Freedom Holding to Launch MVNO in 2026 to Anchor Digital Ecosystem

Freedom Holding CEO Timur Turlov presenting telecom infrastructure and MVNO plans during a live 2026 financial broadcast.

Kazakhstan-based financial conglomerate Freedom Holding Corp., is expanding its digital ecosystem by entering the telecommunications sector as a new pillar of growth. The company is positioning itself to become a major force in the telecommunications sector. CEO Timur Turlov recently outlined a strategic roadmap that aims to establish telecommunications as the company’s fourth pillar of income, joining its existing brokerage, banking, and insurance divisions. Central to this expansion is the upcoming launch of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) service.

MVNO: The Missing Piece in the Freedom Ecosystem

During a live financial results broadcast for fiscal year 2026, Turlov confirmed the company is in the final stages of securing the necessary licenses and agreements to launch mobile services in Kazakhstan in 2026.

He emphasized that this mobile component is a critical missing piece in the company’s integrated digital ecosystem, and part of a broader effort to transform the company into a dominant digital ecosystem across Central Asia.

Freedom’s telecommunications initiative is supported by significant investments in physical infrastructure. The company has already built 220 5G base stations and operates as the second-largest data center provider in Kazakhstan. Turlov views these assets, alongside a developing sovereign cloud, as the necessary foundation for mobile and cloud services.

The strategic value of the MVNO launch lies in its ability to facilitate a fully converged product suite. Once the technology is deployed, the company will offer customers a seamless integration of mobile communications, residential broadband, and public Wi-Fi access. The goal is to deepen the relationship with existing users of the company’s broader financial SuperApp while attracting new segments of the population.

The company is funding these initiatives using its own capital rather than relying on external borrowing. According to Turlov, the transition into the telecom space is expected to generate several billion dollars in revenue over the coming years as infrastructure projects become fully operational.

Freedom Holding aims to solidify its status as the premier digital player across Central Asia, effectively transforming its digital footprint into a multi-billion-dollar market capitalization engine.
