Thailand’s telecom regulator issues two more MVNO licenses – brings total to 42

Thailand has issued 42 MVNO licenses
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has issued two more MVNO licenses. The two latest companies to receive MVNO licenses are:
Infinity Gen Company Limited who received the MVNO license 1/59/053 valid from 10 August 2016 until 9 August 2021 and;
Wishwon Info Co., Ltd who received the MVNO license 1/59/070 valid from 4 October 2016 until 3 October 2021.
In total, since the introduction of MVNOs in the Thai market six years ago, the regulator has issued 42 MVNO licenses however only 9 have launched – they are:
- i-mobile Plus (Samart Corp)
- i-mobile (Samart Corp)
- Mojo 3G (MConzult)
- i-Kool 3G (Loxley)
- IEC3G (Sold to Tron-IEC3G)
- 168 (Formerly 365 Communications)
- MyWorld3G
- Penguin SIM (Whitespace)
- NTT Communications
- (TrueMove H*)
*TrueMove H, a subsidy of True Mobile is only a MVNO on paper but a mobile operator in reality.
