Italian MVNO 1Mobile Surpasses 1 Million Active Customers

1Mobile has reached a significant milestone in its history. Through a recent promotional campaign, the Italian Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), announced that its active customer base has surpassed 1 million users.

According to MondoMobileWeb, this disclosure marks the first time the company has provided a specific figure regarding its size in nearly two decades of operation.

The brand, which operates under Compagnia Italia Mobile, and is led by CEO Antonio Cortina, has maintained a presence in the Italian market for almost 19 years.

Debuting on June 7, 2007, it operates as an Enhanced Service Provider MVNO and pays for network access to Fastweb and Vodafone, to provide 2G, 4G, and, through specific offers or options, 5G connectivity to its subscribers.

In previous years, the company remained reserved about its specific user metrics. During an interview in March 2023, Antonio Cortina declined to provide exact figures when asked about the customer base.

Instead, he characterized the company’s growth as constant and significant, focusing his commentary on long-term retention strategies and steady expansion rather than specific headcounts.

The confirmation arrived via social media channels between May 20 and May 21, 2026. The company launched a new promotional campaign featuring Giusy Meloni, a prominent Italian sports broadcaster and DAZN presenter, to share the news. In the video, Meloni invites new users to join a growing community that has now surpassed the 1 million customer mark.

While the figure is presented in an advertising context rather than an official financial statement, it serves as the first clear indication of the scale 1Mobile has achieved since its inception. The operator specifies this total as 1 million people, which refers to the number of active SIM cards currently served by the network.
