Trump Mobile is currently investigating a security vulnerability on its website that exposed the personal information of thousands of potential customers.

The Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Trump Mobile, launched by Donald Trump’s family business, confirmed that names, mailing addresses, email addresses, order identifiers, and phone numbers were accessible. The breach did not expose payment card details, banking information, or highly sensitive financial data like Social Security numbers.

The company stated it is working alongside independent cybersecurity professionals to evaluate the incident and has implemented additional safeguards to protect customer data. Consumers have been advised to remain alert for suspicious communications regarding their orders.

The security flaw was initially discovered by an anonymous Australian IT professional and later widely publicized by YouTube journalist Stephen Findeisen, known online as Coffeezilla.

Trump Mobile T1 Pre-Order Numbers Sharply Contradicted

Findeisen confirmed the severity of the vulnerability when he found his own mailing address and email exposed in the leaked data. According to the creator, he attempted to notify the development team multiple times about the database weakness but received no response.

He eventually published a detailed video outlining the leak to warn consumers. The exposure drew significant public attention, which finally prompted the company to patch the vulnerability.

Beyond the privacy concerns, the exposed backend data revealed a stark contrast between internal sales figures and previously circulated public claims.

Widespread reports had suggested that Trump Mobile secured approximately 590,000 pre-orders for its T1 smartphone, which would amount to around $59 million in customer deposits.

However, the internal metrics accessed during the breach indicated a customer base of about 10,000 unique users with roughly 30,000 registered orders.

Jonathan Soma, a programmer and professor at Columbia University, reviewed the code uncovered from the Trump Mobile website. Soma noted that the true number of finalized pre-orders is likely even lower than the 30,000 figure.

The website utilized a common e-commerce model that logged every potential order, meaning the database recorded users who abandoned their carts before paying a deposit.
