Ride-hailing company Uber, has launched the MVNO “Uber Chip” (Uber SIM), a prepaid mobile phone service to Uber drivers in Brazil.

There are four different prices available (one package) to the drivers.

The price and discount level depends on the which level the driver has in the Uber Pro program. Discount/Prices range from 30% discount at R$35/month to 60% discount at R$20/month.

The Uber Chip package includes:

• 9GB/Month of 4G data,

All plans are minimum 3 months (total amount can be divided into monthly instalments). The service will be automatically renewed with level discount via Uber Pro.

For now, the service will be available only to company drivers/partners in the city of São Paulo. The expectation is that the product will reach the whole country in 2021
