Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Poket Mobile Network Mbinga has launched in South Africa with fintech services and insurance rewards program

Speaking at the launch, The Zimbabwean businessman and CEO, Edwin Anderson said the MVNO has the cheapest data rates in South Africa, on both data and voice calls. It provides 1Gb data for 30 days for R95 ($7.07) and calls R0.66c ($0.05) per minute to any network in South Africa.

“We have given you the best Mobile Service ever and we are going to create many jobs through agents all over the country”, Anderson told NewsDay.

Poket Mobile Network also announced the partnership with Zororo-Phumulani, a South African based Zimbabwe insurance service provider. The partnership will enable users to pay for the policies and get rewards in the form of voice and data bundles. Edwin Anderson is the former CEO of the insurance service provider.

The MVNO’s fintech division allows users to purchase airtime, pay for electricity, TV subscriptions, lotto and make money transfers, while the customer support center enable users to use Chewa, Ndebele and Shona, among a rage of other South African languages.

Poket Mobile Network is using MTN and Cell C as its host network partners.
