MVNO DEFINITION
A MVNO does not own spectrum, instead it leases and resells the host operators capacity in cooperation with the host operator. The host operator is either referred to as a HNO (Host Network Operator) or MNO (Mobile Network Operator)
The four main operational models are: Reseller MVNO, Service Provider MVNO, Enhanced (Medium) MVNO and Full MVNO. Below is another example

The simplified MVNO business objective obviously closely resembles that of an mobile network operator, maximizing the profit of the total business as follows: Profit = ARPU x customers minus cost.

The goal for an MVNO is to make profit through fulfilling the expectations of the chosen customer segment so that the customers experience the level of service that satisfies their needs. It is not to copy the setup of the host MNO and try to sell the same thing to the same segment.
