In July 2014, Vietnam, approved the restructuring plan of it's state-owned Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Under the plan, MobiFone which since July, 2014 has been under the direct management of the Ministry of Information and Communications, will be privatized, thus leveling the playing field by eradicating monopoly, bolster market transparency, and pave the way for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s telecom market.
In early August, a field -and performance test of seven mobile DVB-T2 receivers for Android smartphones, tablets, iPhone's, iPad's, PC's and Mac computers, was conducted by Bobby Shin from the South Korean company Aprotech, in Bangkok, Thailand and four nearby provinces.

Digital TV is gaining traction in Thailand

A couple of months with digital TV broadcasting in Thailand have seen 15 million people watching digital channels, translating into a 13% share of potential viewers. Furthermore, the viewers are also spending more time watching TV, up from 4.27 hours to 5.18 hours a day according to Nielsen Thailand.
Mobile internet users in Myanmar have surpassed 2.6 million, and is growing with 70,000 to 80,000 users monthly, according to Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT).
