Axiata sets up MVNO in Thailand

VM Digital (Thailand) is the latest company to be granted a Mobile Virtual Network Operator license in Thailand. The MVNO license is valid from June 1st 2016 until May 31 2021.
In December 2015, Thailand's state enterprise telecom operator TOT, pre-approved a proposal from the leading mobile operator AIS to become a MVNO and partner in mobile business.

Possible new 900MHz auction scenarios

As JAS Mobile broadband failed to pay its winning bid for the second 900MHz license in Thailand, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has to come up with a new auction round. 
Siano Mobile Silicon, who enables mobile devices to receive digital TV, went into receivership last month after burning through $112 mio of capital. Siano along with i-mobile, launched the world’s first DVB-T2 smartphone and tablet in 2014.
