HbbTV is an industry standard that provides an open and business neutral technology platform, which seamlessly combines television services delivered via the broadcast signal, with services delivered via broadband. With the HbbTV® standard, broadcasters are able to provide interactive service and content to the viewers on the TV screen.
In early August, a field -and performance test of seven mobile DVB-T2 receivers for Android smartphones, tablets, iPhone's, iPad's, PC's and Mac computers, was conducted by Bobby Shin from the South Korean company Aprotech, in Bangkok, Thailand and four nearby provinces.

Digital TV is gaining traction in Thailand

A couple of months with digital TV broadcasting in Thailand have seen 15 million people watching digital channels, translating into a 13% share of potential viewers. Furthermore, the viewers are also spending more time watching TV, up from 4.27 hours to 5.18 hours a day according to Nielsen Thailand.
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has approved the draft regulations for granting application licenses to TV and Radio rating agencies.
