MVNO license number 58 in Thailand

Thailand’s telecom regulator NBTC has issued one more MVNO license, bringing the total of issued MVNO licenses to 58 since the introduction of MVNO in Thailand.
Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator and Enabler MVNA/ MVNE One Development (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has been awarded a Type 1 telecoms license for Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA) services in Thailand, by the telecom regulator NBTC.
NBTC has issued two more MVNO licenses, bringing the total of issued MVNO licenses to 57 since the introduction of MVNO in Thailand eight years ago. Nine have launched - six remains more or less active.

50 MVNO licenses issued in Thailand

Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has now issued 50 MVNO licenses since the introduction of MVNO seven years ago.
VEON formerly VimpelCom Ltd, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, VimpelCom Holding Laos B.V., has entered into an agreement to sell its 78% stake in VimpelCom Lao Co. Ltd to the Government of Lao PDR for gross proceeds of USD 22 million.

Whose LINE is it?

Earlier this month, Thai consumers was surprised to find that LINE had launched a mobile service in Thailand. So too was the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), who invited LINE to explain on the matter.
