Cool Magic is the first Android based clone phone to hit the grey market.
We’ve seen a fair share of Windows Mobile based iPhone clones, and even a few good HTC knock-offs, but this is the first clone we’ve seen that not only imitates the original design but also use the same operating system -ย Google Android OS. It might even be the fist Android-based clone to hit the grey market.

Code-named COOL Magic, the phone supports the CDMA2000 family of standards and it also features the Marvell PXA310 chip clocked at 624MHz and comes with a 3.2" touch screen.

There is no word on availability or price yet. The website M8Cool only managed to get hold of an engineering sample and one that seems to crash often.

Even though the system configuration shows it is running Android 2.0, the guys at M8Cool found that it is "only" Android 1.5 inside.

Recent news has it that Google just put out their mobile dubbed Nexus One and is being tested now. This could be the real fight with IPhone.
Good that we have more choices.
